Renkou Xu is a research Professor at Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his Ph. D in soil science in 1997 from the same institute and was appointed as Professor by the institute in 2004. Dr Xu has been working on soil acidification mechanisms, amelioration of acid soils and surface chemical properties of variable charge soils. He has published more than 200 articles in international journals and received National Award for Science and Technology Progress from Chinese Government in 2018.
